Rozi

The first of the wrecks to be scuttled in Cirkewwa is the Rozi wreck, on the sand at the edge of the right reef. The wreck is around 35 metres long, sitting close to the reef on the right side of Cirkewwa between 20 and 35 metres depth.

The wreck was once used as a tugboat in Valletta grand harbor before being scuttled in 1992 as an attraction for a tourist submarine. Now having been underwater for many years, the wreck has been visited by thousands of divers and is home to plenty of marine life.

Having been cleaned before sinking underwater, the wreck has many openings for entering and exploring the inside. It also sits perfectly upright on the sand so makes for beautiful pictures.

Access to the site is simple, next to the lighthouse at Cirkewwa is a platform where we can do our giant stride into the water. From there, we descend and follow the reef along before meeting the stern of the wreck. There are two ways to exit from this dive, either using a ladder placed next to the giant stride platform or to continue swimming along the reef and exit at a shallow pool with a rocky staircase.
